The recent visit of the Governor-General of Australia to Indonesia reminds us of the dynamic relationship not only between the two countries but also between the two Defence Forces. A strong bond between soldiers in particular, can serve as a bridge to sustain good relationships.

LtGen (Ret) Bambang Darmono, who is an alumnie of the Australian Joint Staff College saw the GG’s visit to Indonesia as a gesture to show a good will from Australia to maintain that good relationship. However, LtGen (Ret) Bambang Darmono explained that the relationship can be improved to achieve a better communication. With the ultimate goals to give a sense of security and achieve prosperity of the people of the two countries.
