US President Donald Trump has met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, following a warm welcome he received at the Great Hall of the People of China.
US President Donald Trump kicked off his first state visit to China in nine years with a red carpet welcome by Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing.
The bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of China is a major focus for the world, especially for industry players such as shoe exporters in Wenzhou and tech companies such as Nvidia hoping for reassurance amid the trade dispute.
In addition to discussing the balance of tariffs and the participation of top U.S. executives in trade missions, other crucial agendas include U.S. pressure for China to play an active role in defusing conflicts in the Middle East, particularly regarding the security of Iran's shipping lanes and oil exports.

International observers are now highlighting the outcome of this deal as any concessions Washington gives to Beijing will have a significant impact on geopolitical stability as well as the interests of US allies in the Asia-Pacific region.
