Hosts for the 2026 Commonwealth Games still not decided yet

The Commonwealth Games Federation confirmed that the sporting event would be held in 2026 and beyond, despite a surprise announcement from the Victorian Premier to withdraw from hosting the event.

Victoria's decision to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games is a severe blow to Victoria's athletes and regional officials.

Andrea Metcalf is the Mayor of Bendigo, one of the regional centres that will host surprised too but concussed of Premier Andrews' decision.

19-year-old Ballarat pedestrian, Alanna Peart, told A-B-C she had been training for the event for a long time.

The question now is who will host the games in 2026.
