Virus Flu: Why it is important to protect yourself from influenza virus?

As the coronavirus continues to spread across the country, Australians are being urged to get their flu vaccinations ahead of winter.


Doctors say it's more important than ever to build up community immunity to help protect vulnerable people and to lessen the burden on the healthcare system.  They are also encouraging people to be vaccinated in Autumn for protection at the peak of the flu season.  The Department of Health recommends everyone aged six months and over gets immunised but less than half of all Australians follow that advice.
