Inoculation rates in Australia are high and the incidence of hospitalisation is falling in most states, so some governments in Australia are easing nearly all their COVID-9 restrictions, including the need to wear face masks. But the WHO still deems COVID to be a pandemic.
Dr Dicky Budiman is an epidemiologist who is undertaking research to complete his PhD at Griffith University. He explains to Sri Dean his concerns about easing restrictions too quickly and about the potential impact of the war in Ukraine on the spread of COVID.
