The bushfire crisis in Queensland has eased marginally, with conditions downgraded from catastrophic to severe.
However, authorities are warning the state is still in danger, with heatwave conditions gripping some parts of the state until early next week.
Thousands of Queenslanders have been forced from their homes as firefighters continue to battle around 100 bushfires.
Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has told the Seven Network the state is still in danger.
Palaszczuk "It absolutely is unprecedented, and let me just leave you this example. The fires that have been measured down in Victoria, the highest index they used to use was 100 and of course, they put in a new level called catastrophic above that. In Rockhampton, yesterday, we had conditions that reached 135. In Emerald, it was 105. We had to act quickly and we did and that saves lives. So, thank you to everyone for listening to the messages."
