Riku Danzaki is back with the Brisbane Roar to repeat his stellar 2020/21 season with the club.
He was a fan favourite, scoring 9 goals in his last season, winning Brisbane Roar's golden boot award.
After returning to J-League for the 2021/22, he is back, with the goal of "doing it better" than last time.
"I really need to bring in the result", Danzaki tells SBS Japanese.
"I want to show my gratitude to the club by bringing in the result", says the 22 year old striker.
He is determined to improve his skills, starting from his daily training.
Danzaki had little or close to no game time in J-League, so to be "needed" in A-League has brought his confidence back.
”A-League gave me back the confidence"
”Soccer players have to play games", says Danzaki.
Danzaki's eyes are on Europe, and he hopes that his time at Brisbane Roar will not only give him the much needed game time, but the confidence and motivation to go on.
Danzaki also spoke of his late team mate, former Japanese National player, Masato Kudo, who passed away over the weekend.
”He taught me so much as a professional player, as a human being, and as a men".
"I am still at loss. He was loved by everyone".
”In the next home game, I will score for him".
