He accepted the ARIA Awards for Best Male Artist and Best Adult Contemporary Album this year. The indigenous singer-songwriter was also inducted into ARIA Hall of Fame.

"Took the Children Away" was first released 30 years ago and re-recorded to celebrate his long career. 

The most iconic song musically and politically is the first statement from the aboriginal singer about so called “Stolen Generation”.
