The Australian Studies Association in Japan (ASAJ) was established in 1989 to promote Australian studies in Japan and connect scholars.
In June, ASAJ held its annual conference in Fukushima, Japan to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and to talk about what it brought to Australia-Japan relations and to each country.
In the audio, Professor Yuichi Murakami of Fukushima University tells us how he organized the conference which was held in a hybrid format (online and offline) during the pandemic and shares his personal connection to Australia and his views on Australia-Japan relations.
