Bushfire Crisis, No End in Sight

Firefighters Brace For Worsening Bushfire Conditions As State Of Disaster Is Extended In Victoria

Bushfires continue to rage around the country. The crisis is at its most acute in New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia and they're raising difficult question at administrative, and even diplomatic, levels.


Firefighters continue to fight on multiple fronts in New South Wales. 

In South Australia, properties have been lost, firefighters injured, and more land blackened after a horror night of fire of Kangaroo Island.

In Victoria, emergency and evacuation alerts continue in East Gippsland, and the state's north-east.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has ordered the defence force to work alongside firefighters and other authorities where required.
