In November 2020, Springs, a Sydney-based kids cheerleading team, won the first prize and the title of National Grand Champion at the Australian CHEER and DANCE Nationals.

Springs started as an extracurricular activity in 2014 at the JCS Japanese Language School, City in Sydney.  Members of the team are students who learn the language and the lessons are conducted mostly in Japanese.

Ms Rika Nomoto is the coach and the manager of Springs.  In the audio, Ms Nomoto tells us about winning the title of National Grand Champion, her students and how she joined one of the most competitive university cheerleading teams in Japan.
