Yumemi Hiraki is a contemporary artist born and raised in Hiroshima. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts, she has held exhibitions in various galleries and Artist Run Initiatives around Victoria and Tasmania. With her international background, Yumemi has been living between cultural gaps from her early years. In the interview, Yumemi speaks about how she came to live in Australia, an art project she conducted in Sri Lanka, and her artwork named ‘A WARM GLOW TO REMEMBER’ which she developed while facing her cultural gaps and personal relationship with heritage and tradition.
