Wood ear mushrooms may not be a common ingredient in everyday Japanese home cooking, but they are believed to have been introduced from China during the Heian period. In this episode, Melbourne-based cooking instructor Mayu Tomaru shares a recipe using wood ear mushrooms—an ingredient you can find at most Asian grocery stores.
