From 20th to 25th November 2018, Deaf International Basketball Federation (DIBF) Asia Pacific Cup was held in Melbourne. The winner is....

There were 2 teams participated from Japan, Osaka Makoto Family and Fukuoka Emperors. The final game was Osaka Makoto Family vs Melbourne city. Melbourne City had been taking the title past 3 years in a row. This year's winner is... Osaka Makoto Family!

Osaka team is led by Yoritaka Ueda. While he works as jūshoku, a chief priest at a local temple in Wakayama, he also trains deaf basketball players to become the best they can be. When he started coaching, it was simply impossible for the team to win against Melbourne City and other teams from other countries. SBS interviewed Yoritaka about what deaf basketball is and how his team has grown to be one of the best deaf basketball teams in the world.
