Tomoko Otani heads the Japanese Australian Support in Community (JASIC), a Sydney-based Japanese community group.  Tomoko shares experts' opinion on domestic violence and mental health issues in times of the Covid-19 crisis and she is concerned about the future rise of both issues in the Japanese community.

For people who can't speak English and people who can't use the language to protect themselves, interpreting help is available for support.

In the audio, Tomoko explains how to access support and some tips to help your friends and family members who are affected by DV.
Domestic violence groups say in stressful or economically difficult situations like natural disasters, there's always a spike in abuse rates.
