A Geelong-based private school, Kardinia International College has a very unique history in that it was established by a Japanese national with no prior ties to Australia.
The founder, Yoshimaro Katsumata, was an educator who also founded Kardinia's sister school, Gotemba Nishi High School in Shizuoka, Japan.
Thirty years on, the school serves over 2,000 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, and maintains a special bond with Japan through active exchange programs.
