Ramadan is the holy month of fasting for many Muslims around the world.

Mrs. Haruka Kagawa is a Melbourne-based Japanese woman, who has converted to Islam upon meeting her Pakistani husband.

In this interview, she shares with us what her life during Ramadan is like, as well as what Ramadan means to her.

This is her second interview with SBS. In her previous interview back in 2016, she shared with us what it's like to live as a Japanese Muslim woman in Australia. The interview can be found here.

Her story captures the beautiful diversity observed in many modern Australian households, in which individuals with very different, unique identities come together to form a family.
