The augural 'Japanaroo', a new format of a Japanese festival, was held last year with a theme 'Japan at your doorstep', to bring Japan to Australia. Now the organising committee is aiming for more this year. Consul-General of Japan in Sydney Masahiko Kiya explains.

Japanese public and private sectors in Sydney are teaming up again to hold a Japanese festival called 'Japanaroo' in September this year.

This year's Japanaroo will last for 9 days and its event venues will be scattered around Sydney. Some of the events are planned to be held online.

In the audio, Mr Kiya tells us what Japanaroo is about and what he would like to see through this new initiative.
