Japanese drumming group Yamato is on their 2nd Australian tour

Japanese taiko (drumming) group Yamato is on their second Australian tour PASSION. Broadcast on the 30th of July, 2019.


Yamato is touring in Australia starting in Queensland on the 30th of July and will be finishing in Western Australia on the 15th of September, after performing through New South Wales and Victoria.

Yamato marks its 25th anniversary this year.  The group has played in 54 countries and performed at more than 3,700 stages.

In the audio, two Yamato members for its Australian tour, Masaya Futaki and Saori Higashi, share their feelings toward their 2nd Australian tour and tell us a bit of their experiences as members of Yamato, which is known for its unique style such as the communal living of all 14 members.
