Consul-General of Japan in Sydney Masahiko Kiya explains us what 'Japanaroo' is.

Japanese public and private sectors in Sydney are teaming up to hold an inaugural Japanese festival called 'Japanaroo'  in August this year.

Unlike the popular traditional-style matsuri festival in Sydney, which is held only for a day at one big venue, Japanaroo will last for 10 days and its event venues are scattered around Sydney. Some of the events are held online.

Currently, more than 60 participants signed up to hold events as part of Japanaroo 2021.

In the audio, Mr Kiya tells us how the idea came about and explains to us what Japanaroo is about.
