Jobless figures jump to 6.2 per cent in Australia

Australia's unemployment rate has risen to 6.2 per cent with more than 594,000 people losing their jobs in April.


The coronavirus downturn has been particularly hard for young people, with youth unemployment now double the overall rate - rising from 11.5 to 13.8 per cent.
