Massive new detached reef found off Cape York

On the floor of the Coral Sea, scientists have a made a remarkable discovery.


Researchers have made an exciting discovery in waters off Cape York in North Queensland: a massive new reef, taller than some of the world's most impressive skyscrapers.

The detached reef, among a cluster of seven others near the Great Barrier Reef, is the first such find in more than a century.
