"(Alphonse) Mucha is well known as a flag-bearer of Art Nouveau. But actually he became so unintentionally and he didn't like it ," Tomoko Sato, curator at Mucha Foundation, said. Ms Sato co-curated the latest exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW).

Ms Sato talks about the comprehensiveness of the exhibition 'Alphonse Mucha Spirit of Art Nouveau' which covers the artist's whole career, and also talks about the collaboration with AGNSW to showcase both his connection to Japan and his influence on modern Japanese manga artists by exhibiting the gallery's Japanese collection.
In the audio, in addition to Ms Sato, Mr Marcus Mucha and a AGNSW's Japanese volunteer guide Chie Hamada talk briefly about the exhibition.
Mr Marcus Mucha is executive director of the Mucha Foundation and a great-grandson of Alphonse Mucha. He also speaks Japanese.
