Miki is a macrobiotic life advisor in Japan and runs a cafe in Tokyo.  She flew to Sydney in February to be part of the bushfire recovery efforts as a volunteer .

Miki has worked as a volunteer before in the disaster areas of Japan after the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.  However it was her first time to participate in a disaster relief volunteer team outside Japan.

Upon joining the volunteer group, Blazeaid, Miki wanted to share her knowledge on the health benefits of food to support volunteers and local residents.   So she decided to introduce Japanese miso to the fellow volunteers.

In the audio, Miki shares her experience as a volunteer in Milton, NSW and tells us what brought her to Australia in the first place.
