Launched from scratch in 2018, Matsuri Brisbane has grown into an event that now attracts around 30,000 visitors. This year, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Australia-Japan Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, the festival will feature an interactive art project in which visitors add their fingerprints to create an art of cherry blossoms and jacarandas, symbolising the friendship and enduring bonds between Australia and Japan.
