
Taro studied Phycology at university and worked for a Japanese bank before he decided to change his career path. Taro once gave up his dream to become a photographer because of his colour-blindness. By accident, Taro met a war photographer who also is colour blind and that encouraged Taro to pursue his dream.
Taro’s well-known and controversial photo series called Saori will be displayed at the Head On Photo Festival in Sydney in May. Saori is the name of a love doll and the series depicts everyday life that Saori and her owner Senji Nakajima, a 61-year-old Japanese man who left his wife and children for the doll, spent.
