Salvador is the fourth largest city in Brazil. The 470 y.o. plus city is known for its Portuguese colonial architecture, Afro-Brazilian culture and a tropical coastline. The Pelourinho neighborhood is its historic heart, with cobblestone alleys opening onto large squares, colorful buildings. The city is located at about 2,000km north of Sao Paulo.
