G7 leaders are expected to discuss the finer points of a peace deal between the US and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has distanced his government from the peace deal to be signed by the US and Iran, saying he will protect his own country's interests and continue to ensure Iran never has a nuclear weapon. Australia marks 50 years since the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation with Japan, with Foreign Minister Penny Wong releasing a statement to mark the occasion.
