The National Party and Liberal Party have not been able to reach a coalition agreement, ending a partnership between the two parties. Foreign Minister Penny Wong is in the Pacific to meet with the prime ministers and foreign ministers of Fiji, Tonga and Vanuatu. Residents of New South Wales Hunter and Mid-North Coast regions have been hit hard by severe weather in the past 24 hours, with no reprieve from enduring rain in the coming days.
