Hezbollah has rejected the idea of direct negotiations with Israel. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte says the alliance is willing to work with the United States on a possible mission to keep the Strait of Hormuz open. Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles visited Japan and held talks with Japan’s Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi.
