President Donald Trump has announced what he described as a historic agreement aimed at the complete disarmament of Hamas and all armed groups in the Gaza Strip. A powerful magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck Japan's Kumamoto Prefecture on 28 July, with rescue efforts continuing in the affected areas. European football's governing body has warned it will boycott FIFA competitions, including the World Cup, if FIFA proceeds with a proposal to bring private investors into the tournament.
