Human rights advocates have criticised the federal government for rushing new deportation laws through parliament. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has spoken to United States President Donald Trump in a late-night phone call. The federal government has agreed to pay victims of the robodebt scheme $475 m in additional compensation to settle a second class action.
