Rebecca Malek arrived in Australia from South Sudan over 10 years ago. She has four children, two in high school and two in primary school. Over the years, she has taken up opportunities to meet teachers, volunteer on excursions and become involved in school activities. She also enrolled her children in a homework club, and encourages other parents to do the same.
Shelley Hill is the president of the Australian Parents Council. Just like Rebecca, she says that being involved in your children's school is beneficial for them, but also for you as a parent.
