The data was obtained exclusively by SBS under the Freedom of Information Act and some immigration experts say it's a trend they expect will continue.


The number of permanent residency visa granted to Hong Kongers has risen sharply since the introduction of the controversial national security law in the territory in July last year.

Data obtained under the Freedom of Information Act from July to November last year found:

The Home Affairs Department granted 1,849 PR visas to Hong Kongers - an increase of 26 per cent compared to the previous five months
