Team Australia has pulled off a major upset in the opening round of the World Baseball Classic

In front of a near-capacity crowd at the Tokyo Dome, the 11th-ranked Australians defeated world number two Chinese Taipei 3-0 in a stunning result. Robbie Perkins and Travis Bazzana both hit home runs, driving in all three of Australia’s runs.
