The Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has labelled it a COVID recession.

It's the largest-ever quarterly fall and marks the start of Australia's first recession since 1991.

While the government has called this "the COVID recession" the Opposition says it will be longer and deeper than necessary because economic stimulus was rolled out too late and is being wound back too soon.
