This year's the Japan Film Festival (JFF) in Australia, commencing in Canberra on 27 October. JFF returns for its 29th year, but did you know the globally-held film festival started in Sydney, Australia in 1997? We are republishing an edited excerpt from an interview with its founder, Masafumi Konomi. The original story was first published in November 2021.
