A senior International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Dick Pound believes a delay of the Games wouldn't be possible. Broadcast on the 27th of February, 2020


The virus' spread to the Middle East and Europe means, in his opinion, the athletes and the Olympic organisers must have certainty by May at the latest.

Already in Japan the country's football competition, the J-League, has been suspended in a move designed to help stop the spread.

Whatever decision is ultimately made,  the AOC says it has full faith the IOC will do what's right to ensure the athletes' safety.
