Aboriginal rangers in the Northern Territory are being trained as first responders to help in emergencies. It’s hoped they’ll not only be able to care for the land, but also the visitors who frequent the popular and remote tourist destinations.

Aboriginal rangers, usually the first at the scene of an accident, will now be able to provide the trauma care needed to save lives. The trauma course, provided by Careflight, has been running since 2011 but was traditionally delivered to frontline workers. Now, the course has been adapted to better suit the needs of the curators of the land.
