Defence Minister Richard Marles has become the first foreign counterpart to be hosted by the new US Secretary of Defence under the Trump administration.


Pete Hegseth says the Trump administration will uphold the AUKUS submarine deal, and he welcomed Australia's first payment of A$798 million ($US500 million).
