Australia's unemployment rate has fallen despite an economy in recession and thousands of Victorians losing their jobs during lockdown. But more Victorians are out of work due to the state’s second wave of COVID-19 and Melbourne’s stage-four lockdown.
Australia's unemployment figures showed a fall in unemployment from 7.5 per cent to 6.8 per cent, a result few saw coming, including Treasurer Josh Frydenberg.
