The Japan Foundation Sydney is now calling for applications for their first online talent contest, 'What's your J-talent?'.


'What's your J-talent?' has four categories and anyone who lives in Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu can apply.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Foundation can't hold Japanese cultural events at their office and gallery situated in Sydney as they used to.  The foundation has been trying to reach more people outside Sydney by holding cultural events and workshops online.

In the audio, Ms. Yurika Sugie of the foundation explains about how the idea of 'What's your J-talent?' came about and how they have been trying to showcase Japanese culture to Australian people and beyond.
