ビクトリア州で日豪2プラス2開催、安全保障協力の強化で合意

日豪の外務・防衛担当が日豪2プラス2にて会談し、安全保障協力を強化することで一致しました。

日豪の外務・防衛担当の会談、いわゆる日豪2プラス2が5日、ビクトリア州のクイーンズクリフにて行われました。

連邦のリチャード・マールズ副首相兼国防相とペニー・ウォン外相は、来豪した上川陽子外相と木原稔防衛相を迎えました。日豪2プラス2は今回で第11回目となります。

会談では主に、インド太平洋地域の安全保障環境と日豪の安全保障協力について意見が交わされました。

両国は、中国の日本の領空における軍事活動と、南シナ海での活動を強く懸念。

東シナ海および南シナ海において、武力または強制力によって現状を変更しようとするいかなる一方的な行動にも強く反対することを改めて確認しました。

また、北朝鮮の核・ミサイル活動や拉致問題などへの対応について協力し、ASEAN諸国および太平洋諸島諸国の地域の安定と繁栄を確保するために協力することで合意しました。

さらに日豪は、2022年に発表された安全保障共同宣言に沿って両国の安全保障協力を強める姿勢を示しています。

この安全保障協力には、日本の自衛隊とオーストラリア国防軍の合同演習や両国軍間の協力の強化、経済安全保障における協力も含まれています。

アメリカとも協力しつつ、集団的抑止力を強化し、国家安全保障政策を緊密に調整することで合意しました。

上川外相は、この会談の成果の１つは、「日豪太平洋デジタル開発イニシアティブ」の立ち上げを宣言したことであると述べました。

この宣言では、日豪は太平洋諸島諸国のデジタル・サイバーセキュリティー能力を強化することで一致しています。また同地域の海底通信ケーブル接続の確保にも取り組むとしています。

マールズ副首相兼国防相は、日豪がかつてないほど戦略的に連携している今、そして周囲にあるさまざまな戦略的環境と世界各国を見渡したときに、日本ほど戦略的に緊密な連携をとっている国は今日、世界のどこにもないと考えている、とコメントを発表。

ウォン外相は、日豪の特別戦略的パートナーシップは、野心を表したものであるがそれ以上のものであり、両国の共通の目的のためにより緊密に協力するという永続的なコミットメントの表明である、とコメントしました。
