She lives in Tasmania, Te Ka Myee Paw and her family experienced racism when they first settled in Australia in 2009 from Mae La refugee camp in Thailand.
A group of young people threw stones at them when her mother, her and her brother were walking across a bicycle lane.
This was one of the many racist experiences that she recalled.
After participating in the Students Against Racism Group, Te Ka Myee Paw understand more about racism and happy that she got a chance to get into the group, she said.
She also encouraged others not to be racist and to welcome and understand other differences.
