Monsoon floods have killed more than five people and displaced nearly, 30,000 people in Karen State alone in Burma (Myanmar). About seven thousand families are sheltering in 50 temporary camps, opened by the State government. The SBS Karen Program spoke to Nan Wai Phyo Zar, a senior journalist of the Karen Information Center based in Hpa-An, the capital city of Karen State, and Saw Eh Tho, the second secretary of the Overseas Karen Refugee Social Organization (OKRSO) about the latest floods situation.
