Nan Myint Myint Win, a Karen young woman and an international student lost her job during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
She worked at a childcare centre since last August after she graduated from her Child Care course at Melbourne City Institute of Education.
But due to COVID-19 she lost her job more than a month ago.
Nan Myint Myint Win is also studying a course in Management and Leadership of Business at Greenwich Collage. She said she is not the only one to lose her job, other international students particularly from Myanmar have lost their jobs or their working hours are reduced due to the pandemic.
They are experiencing many hardships as they must continue paying for their rent and school fees without having enough income.
The government have set up some support programs for international students, but Nan Myint Myint Win said that her school name is not on the list of schools that are eligible for government supports.
To survive the crisis, she is looking for jobs everywhere she can, however, due to the restriction and closing of many workplaces, it is not possible to obtain a job at this time.
To make ends meet, they are currently relying on the community support programs, which includes getting jobs at farms and picking fruits.
