Foreign investors remain interested in Australia's property market

Figures released to the Daily Telegraph suggest foreign investors are buying up to one in ten properties across New South Wales.

Of those, the paper reports, a third were nationals from China, followed by Britons and New Zealanders, as well as nationals from India, Nepal, Malaysia, the USA and Indonesia.

It comes despite New South Wales introducing a 4 per cent foreign investor stamp duty surcharge last year.

The paper reports that state treasurer, Dominic Perrottet, could lift the surcharge in the June budget and that Labor is also considering doing the same if elected in 2019.
