In front of the Springvale Town Hall, southeastern Melbourne, hundreds of Khmer Australian headed by Hong Lim, Victorian state MP and head of the Cambodian Australian Federation Inc., along with CNRP activists in Melbourne, tying white ban on their heads, and holding banners in their hands, were shouting for justice for Dr. Kem Ley, demanding the release of former opposition leader, Kem Sokha, respect Paris Peace Agreement and asking PM Hun Sen to step down.
In Hemara, president of CNRP in Melbourne, told SBS that the main objectives of this afternoon's protest were to send three key messages:
Message 1: Send to Hun Sen that fake democracy must end.
Message 2: A message to Khmer people in Cambodia that Khmer people around the world stand with them to keep their finger clean on the election day.
Message 3: Thank you message to the international communities who is always concerned about the Cambodian people, especially the United States and the European Union for putting pressures on Cambodian government.
At the end of the rally, protesters were marching to the Springvale Shopping Center.
