The 2016 online census is back on track

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) insists the 2016 census is back on track, despite taking two days to overcome a cyber attack that took the website offline.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has been critical of the Bureau of Statistics and says people are likely to lose their jobs over the failure of the website.

The Government has ordered an investigation into the incident.

The census is now back online, and the Bureau of Statistics' David Kalisch (KAY-lish) has urged people to log on to complete their forms.
