The 118 opposition party members will also be banned from politics for the next five years.

The Government accuses the Cambodia National Rescue Party of plotting a coup.

The director of public affairs from the now dissolved opposition party, (ms)Kem Monovithya, has urged Australia and the US to act immediately.

She has told the ABC, Australia should withdraw their funding and endorsement for the 2018 election.

"I think if they do not respond, they will become (an)accomplice in the destruction of democracy. And then they would not only have their own taxpayer to be responsible too. But they also need to face the Cambodian public. Are they going to support a fraudulent election?".
